ABOUT KAREN WEIHS

A Charleston, SC native, Karen started showcasing her paintings in the family restaurants before establishing a gallery in Charleston in 1995. Over last ten years Karen has met and painted with many fine artists who have both encouraged and inspired her including Andrew Peters, Alan Campbell, Bill Jameson, Ann Templeton, Roberta Remy and others.  She credits the now deceased Franck Licciardi of Charleston for her vision and love of painting, and Andrew Peters of Arizona for teaching her proper color mixing. She is a self-described Colorist of the Carolinas. In Highlands, NC, her work may be seen at John Collette Gallery . She is also showing art at Premieres Gallery of Pawley’s Island, SC, Watson Gallery in Atlanta, GA, The Haen Gallery, Asheville, NC and Alison Sprock Fine Art, Charleston, SC.  Karen will also be participating in a two woman show at www.thehaengallery.com . Karen says, “The colors and spirit of Charleston make me feel alive and energized when arriving home, and the mountains inspire serenity to live and create.”

ABOUT CHRIS WEIHS :

Born and raised in Bavaria, educated in France and Switzerland, Chis came to the US in 1969 and became a noted restauranteur in Charleston, SC. Touted as one of the most influential restauranteur chefs who inspired the new Charleston cuisine, Chris is retired from business but not from cooking. His knowledge of organic products with his simple professional approach to cooking is apparent to anyone booking a private class with him or one of his seminars. He and Karen conduct private classes and design the class/workshop to specific requests. They dub their programs as "seminarts" and give not only cooking and productive product information, but healthy lifestyle talks. They believe that a healthy lifestyle is important to happiness and wholeness. Chris uses unusual items from his own garden, using his fresh herbs and vegetables in his seminarts. His valuable lifestyle information and healthy sensible approach to a well lived and centered life inspires and improves others. Often men love private grilling and game preparation classes. Couples enjoy learning not only how to cook but how to share the fun in kitchen and shopping duties together.

Chris and Karen do "seminarts" together at Skylight Farm and are booked often for conventions and groups. Call 828/743-3588 or cell 828/226-1194 for bookings.
